Clover - Kathy Shields Barnhill, 70, entered into Heaven on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at her home with her loving family by her side. Kathy was born in Kenbridge, Virginia and is the daughter of Dorothy Stroupe Shields and the late Claiborne Shields.

Kathy was a graduate of Kenbridge High School, Kenbridge, Virginia and Business College in Richmond, Virginia. Kathy worked for many years as a Paralegal for Ted Greve & Associates PA Attorney at Law, Gastonia.

Kathy is a member of Southside Baptist Church and she enjoyed working with the children of the church. She loved to crochet, read and dressing up in her finest when going anywhere, she always "Shined". Kathy was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister; she will be missed by so many.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 29 years, Robert Lee Barnhill; mother, Dorothy Stroupe Shields of Kenbridge, Virginia; three daughters, Lynn Cleaton and husband Walter of South Hill, Virginia, Cynthia Peebles of San Diego, California, Lynn Hennessee and husband Pastor Carroll Hennessee of Gastonia; one sister, Gayle Grant of Kenbridge, Virginia; four grandchildren, Jordan Gwaltney, Chase Cleaton, David Hennessee, Madison Hennessee; one great grandson, Garrison Gwaltney.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel of Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with Pastor Carroll Hennessee and Chaplain Carl Morton officiating.

Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens, York, South Carolina.
