Kathleen Keever Champion

Kathleen Keever Champion, 95, entered into heaven on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Brian Center, Gastonia with her loving family by her side. She was born in Lincoln County and was the daughter of the late Everett and Eva Ballard Keever.

Mrs. Champion was a former employee of Arlington Mills and was a member of Bradley Memorial United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Champion was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was very devoted matriarch to her family.

Mrs. Champion is survived by her children, Larry Champion and his lifelong companion, Bobbie Jean Clifton of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, Judy Buchanan of Gastonia, Don Champion and wife Melody of Gastonia; one sister, Leona McAbee of Gastonia; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with Rev. Debra Short officiating

Interment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park.

Mrs. Champion was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 50 years, Wilbur Clee "Champ" Champion; two brothers, Bill Keever, Wyatt Keever; three sisters, Evelyn Yearwood, Thelma Hinkle, Frances Dobrovosky.
