Justin Scott Pate

Justin Scott Pate born on March 1, 1990 passed away on September 27, 2024 at 34 years old.

Justin was the rainbow to everyone’s storm. He was the kind, happy one who always made sure everyone had everything they needed, and if they were upset he was always there not to say anything just be their comforter. Justin loved Beyoncé and lived by her words, “if everything was perfect, you would never learn and you would never grow.” Justin worked hard to become the best Justin he could be. He was comfortable in his own skin. He was involved in The Charlotte Pride Organization where he met friends who became more like family. Justin was blessed to have a career that he loved. His Walmart coworkers were his extended family. Justin loved nothing more than raising money for Children’s Miracle Network and participating in numerous store related fundraisers. He was a Swiftie, a lover of Beyonce, Carrie Underwood, singing and dancing, Duke basketball, and the Panthers. He loved Christmas and any time spent with his nieces and nephews. We often joked that Santa arrived when Justin came through the door with overflowing bags to spoil the kids. They made him so happy! Maui, (his dog) was his best friend. Their bond was unbelievable. They took care of each other. 

Justin was preceded in death by his grandparents Hank and Laura Pedersen and Virginia Sue Pate. He was Survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Scott Pate (Debbie Pate) siblings Joshua Keith Pate (Micah) and Ashley Pate Hudson (Mark Hudson) Uncle Jim Pedersen, Uncle Hank Pedersen, Uncle Brad Pate (Mari Lynn) , Aunt Tina Theuerkauf (Dan) along with many loving cousins. Justin was loved by his nieces and nephews: Presley Pate, Cohen Pate, Maverick Pate, Peyton Hudson and Reagan Hudson. 

Justin had many people that considered him another son or brother to include Cindy and Wade Stafford Jr, Heather Huffman and family along with Anthony and Breonia James. Justin will definitely be missed by many but we have to believe that God needed him more in heaven than we did on earth. Justin has found his Freedom. Until we meet again…

Family and friends will gather from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. 

A committal will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Evergreen Cemetery 1462 Armstrong Ford Road, Belmont NC, 28012.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Children’s Miracle Network.
