Dallas – Julia Gordon Ledford, 81, went to be with her Heavenly Father peacefully on January 25, 2016 at her home in the care of her loving family. Her devotion to God and her love for her family will be missed.

Julia was born August 9, 1934 in York, South Carolina to the late Leslie and Grace Gordon of Clover, SC

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband of 46 years, William Richard Ledford.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a friend to all who will be greatly missed! Julia went to grammar school and high school in Clover, SC. She married her high school sweetheart, William Richard Ledford, and was married for 46 years. She worked for many years at Wix Corporation and at Southwest Middle School in the cafeteria. She was a long time member of Hardin Community Baptist Church/ Hardin Baptist Church. She loved her church family and especially her Sunday School Class. Julia always helped anyone who needed help and always wanted to share with others. She enjoyed her "Senior Get Together's" at her church. Julia's family and friends were her joy. She loved each and every one of them and all hold special memories of her love and kindness.

Left to cherish her memories include her four children, Beverly Ensley and husband Joseph of Dallas; Rick Ledford and wife Beth of Gastonia; Ronnie Ledford and wife Judy of Kings Mountain; and daughter Beth Sisk and best friend Ronnie Sisk of Dallas; Six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren;
Sister, Nancy Black of Seneca, SC; brother, Graham Gordon of Gastonia; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Edith Falls of Gastonia; sister, Kay Bailey of York, SC;

The family expresses heartfelt appreciation to thank all the people who supported Julia with calls of concern, cards, and gifts and love and kindness. We would also like to thank Our Dear Sister Beth Sisk, who stayed with our Mother, cared for her and was with her all the time. She provided the best care a mother could ever want or need.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home, Friday, January 29th at 3:00 p.m., with Reverend Fain Farmer and Reverend Dr. Clay Ledford officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to service.

Interment will follow at Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 251 Olney Church Road, Gastonia, NC 28056

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all memorials be made to Hardin Community Baptist Church and/or Gaston Hospice, Post Office Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054
