Julie Lay
1962-2020
Dallas – Julia "Julie" Ann Lay - 57, went to be with her Heavenly Father on July 3, 2020. She was born in Gaston County on September 21, 1962 to Patricia Wiggins Lay and the late Fred Edward Lay, Sr.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Dean Ouzts.
Julie was a graduate of North Gaston High School. She loved to garden and work with her flowers. She enjoyed decorating her home and hosting parties. Julie was known as a "people person" who never met a stranger; she loved talking to her family, friends and neighbors. She was a loving daughter, mother, sister, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Crystal (John) Massey; her loving mother, Patricia Wiggins Lay; sisters and brothers, Teresa (Danny) Hawkins, Michelle (Johnny Keith) Bruce, Fred (Amanda Helms) Lay, Jr., Anita (Tommy) Christenbury, Patrick (Christina) Lay, and Virginia Lay; and sister-in-law, Brandy Lay; numerous nieces and nephews; and her boyfriend, Ronnie Patterson.
A Private Celebration of Life Service for family will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 8th in the Chapel of Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery, Lowell, NC.
Pallbearers will be Fred Lay, Patrick Lay, Andrew Brown, Jason Hawkins, James Davis, Beau Fortner, Alisha Bolin and Tony Ratliff.
Memorials may be made to her family for expenses.
