Judy A Payne Cathey Roper

Gastonia-Judy Ann Payne Cathey Roper, 64, went to be with the Lord August 7, 2009 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Andrews N.C., daughter of the late James Neal and Laura Jean Baldwin Payne
She was a member of North Gaston Church of God, and was a owner and operator of Jack and Judy's Florist with her husband for many years. Judy loved helping people and doing small things for everybody. Her grandchildren were the love of her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Jack Roper,
daughters and sons- in- law Binh and Kelly Nguyen, Timothy and Karen Vaughn,
Luu and Kimberly Nguyen, Sister 'in-law and Brother- in-law Lorena Cathey Lunsford and husband Mutt
step-children Barbara Roper , Juanita McDonald, and Jackie Hagan,
Grandchildren: Victoria , Lily , Joshua, Cory, Taylor 'Leroy', Mark and Mike Nguyen, Mariah, Miranda, Vance, and Eli .
Step-Grandchildren: Chad, Lori, Allison, Tabatha, and Josh.
Special sons Robert Landers, Randy McAbee.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm Monday August 10 at North Gaston Church of God with the Revs. Andy Nicholson, Ted Smith, and Rev. Timothy Vaughn officiating.
Family will receive friends from 7:00 -9:00 pm Sunday at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
Pallbearers for the service are Cory Nguyen, Joshua Vaughn, Mark Nguyen, Taylor Nguyen, Jonathan Parr, and Kenny Hooper.
