Dallas – Judith "Judy" Roberto Bowen, 90 passed away peacefully on November 5, 2018 at the Robin Johnson House.
She was born in Leominster, Mass. on July 15, 1928 to the late Francis and Matilda Capasso Roberto. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Stuart James Bowen, Sr., her son William Morrison Bowen, sisters, Anna Roberto, Virginia Roberto Desaulnier and brothers, Al and Francis Roberto.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend who will be greatly missed. She and her husband founded Bowen Machine Co. in Dallas, NC in 1978. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends, having big family get-togethers and going to Sunset Beach.
Left to cherish her memories includes her children, Stuart James Bowen, Jr., Jonathan D. Bowen (Julie); Terri (Tony) Best; Roberta (Murphy) Moore and Rebecca Bowen; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brother, Ernest Roberto; sisters Betty Schofield and Sylvia Sicuro.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the Celebration of Life Service at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 8th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at Evergreen "A Quiet Place" at a later date.
The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Stanley Total Living Center and to the staff at Robin Johnson for their kind and compassionate care provided to their mother and to the family during this time.
