Dallas – Joyce Bradbury McGee, 82, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2017 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Mecklenburg County to the late John Martin Bradbury and Vera Brackett Bradbury Metcalf.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Tommy and Robert Bradbury.
Joyce was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed greatly! She was a member of New Life Baptist Church in Stanley. Joyce worked in Textiles in her early years, later working in medical records/insurance and retiring from Gaston Hospice in 2008 after many years of dedicated service. She loved to sew and was a very good seamstress, often making the girls wedding and prom dresses through the years. She enjoyed cooking for her family and especially their meal time together on Sundays will forever be cherished. Joyce was a caregiver; she thought she needed to take care of everbody!!
Survivors include her loving husband, James McDowell McGee; her children, Robert McDowell McGee, Terri and Jerry Palmer and Jackie and Keith McGinnis;
grandchildren; Christy McGee, Kimberly Graham, Melody Robinson, Jamie Teague and Suzanne Bridges
great-grandchildren; Cameron and Hunter Reed, Alyssa and Archer Robinson, Dakota Hayden Bridges, Kaleigh Bridges and Cale Roland Bridges.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, January 14th at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home, 2916 Union Road, Gastonia.
Celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 15th Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David McClure officiating.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Dogwood 1 section with the releasing of the doves.
Pallbearers will be Cameron Reed, Hunter Reed, Brian Teague, Jeffery Bridges, Kenny Ballard, Buddy Branch and honorary, Dakota Bridges
