Gastonia – Joyce Hager DeLorenzo, 82, formerly of Lincolnton passed away on February 29, 2016
She was born in Lincoln County on October 28, 1933 to the late Taft McKinnley and Ida Elaine Robertson Hager.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George DeLorenzo and by her brother, Merrill Hager and sister, Donna McDaniel
Joyce touched everyone she came in contact with! She had a passion for the North Carolina coast line, especially Bodie Island and Hatteras Island lighthouses. Her family meant more to her than anything. She was the oldest of six kids, raising her brothers and sisters, her children and grandchildren with unconditional love and will be missed by so many!
Survivors include her daughter, Libby Roberts; sons, Randy Samples and Kelly Beheler; grandchildren, Ashley Wall, Joshua Hughes, Destiny Samples, Wendy Faulkner and Chris Lackey; brother, Marshall Hager; sisters, Ruth Burgess and Judy Ferrurti; a number of special nieces and nephews that she loved very much.
Celebration of Life Service will be Thursday, March 3rd at 6:00 p.m. at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home
Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service
Interment will be private
