Newton – Joyce Beard, 88, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2019 at Brian Center, Lincolnton.
She was born in Catawba County on May 15, 1931 to the late Clarence and Florence Parker Beard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Eugene Beard, grandson, Brian Wilson and a great grandson, Hunter Wilson.
Joyce was a member of Mays Chapel United Methodist Church. She retired from Knitmode and Parker Cone Company.
Survivors include her son, Michael Beard (Rita) of Newton; grandchildren, Jason Beard (Suzanne), Dana Johnson (Mark); great grandchildren, Taylor and Alex Beard, Jonathan Johnson and Kayla Dilday; Three Great great grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Long.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m., until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service will be held 4:00 pm., Tuesday, June 25th at Mays Chapel United Methodist Church, 1707 Mays Chapel Church Road, Maiden, NC 28650.Interment will follow in the church cemetery
