Mrs. Joy Lee Bagwell Weaver, 81 of Umatilla, FL passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2021. Joy was born in Belmont, NC on April 10, 1940 and was the daughter of the late Paul and Lela Garrett Bagwell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Robert Weaver, and her daughter, Cheryl O'Berry.
She was an elementary school teacher at Altoona School and Spring Creek Elementary. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Umatilla and served as an Elder for many years.
Joy was a graduate of Belmont High School, Class of 1958.
She is survived by her son: Paul (Jennifer) Weaver; grandchildren: Evelyn Weaver, Brittany, Matthew, and Nathan O'Berry, and son-in-law: Sean O'Berry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive family and friends from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 20, 2021, at Christ Church (Formerly East Belmont Presbyterian Church), 901 East Catawba Street, Belmont with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 20, 2021, with Pastor Ray Krontorad and Rev. Ron Watts officiating.
Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery with the Releasing of the Doves.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to: Christian Education Fund, c/o First Presbyterian Church, P.O.Box 407, Umatilla, Florida 32784.
