Josephine "Betty" Hawe Horan, 90, of Gastonia, passed away at Covenant Village with her loving family by her side. She was born in Bronx, New York and was the daughter of the late Michael and Margaret Ryan Hawe. She formerly lived in Florida.

Betty was a member of Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church, Belmont. She retired as a Bank Manager and was a volunteer with Hospice in Florida.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Maureen McHenry of Gastonia; son, Gerald Horan and wife Ann of Sunset Beach, North Carolina; two sisters, Agnes Reilly (Frank), Rita Reutter; four grandchildren, Kimberly Laudner (Mike), David Brogdon and fiancé Nancy Capistran, Lauren Horan, Caitlin Fogle (Justin); seven great grandchildren, Joe Brogdon, Beth Brogdon, David Brogdon, Kiara Capistran, Stiles Laudner, Emma Kate Laudner, Graham Fogle.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Wednesday at Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church, 503 North Main Street, Belmont with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 am Wednesday at Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church with Father Frank Cancro officiating.

Interment will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia,
Beside her late husband.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 48 years, Vincent David Horan; four sisters, Helen, Mary, Peggy, Anna; brother, Michael.
