Gastonia Mrs. Johnsie Mae Thornburg, 77, of 3431 South New Hope Road, died April 14, 2009 at her residence. She was a native of Gaston County, daughter of the late Hazel and Lola Hoffman Sellers. She retired from Westinghouse Manufacturing, Charlotte She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Leonard Thornburg, son, James Mark Thornburg, daughter, Lola Melissa Thornburg and a grandson, William David Thornburg Survivors include her sons, David Thornburg and Lesa Thornburg of Gastonia; Danny and wife Dorcus Thornburg of Clover, SC; brother, Mike Sellers of Myrtle Beach, SC; sisters, Betty Lou Sutton of Denver, NC; Geraldine Brown of Belmont; Mary Lee Grose of Finland, Ohio 10 Grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren Memorial service will be 11:00am, Thursday, April 16 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
