John Ashley Wright

Gastonia – John Ashley Wright, 62, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2014 surrounded by his family at his residence.
John was born in York County, South Carolina on September 26, 1951 to the late Juanita McManus and Earl Thomas Wright, Sr.,
He was a US Air Force Veteran, he later worked for Duke Power in Nuclear Security.
John was employed by the Gaston County Sheriff's Department where he gave (14) years of service and earned the rank of Sergeant.
Survivors include his wife of (14) years, Misty Wright, Son, John Kenneth Wright; Step son, Chadrick Kepley;
Daughter, Stephanie Martin, Step daughters, Brooke Wilson and husband Keith; Anna Walker and husband Brian;
Grandchildren; David Wilson, Austin Kepley, Alex Kepley, Jackson Kepley, Holden and Parker Walker, Issac, Dorian and Alister Martin;
Brothers: Earle Thomas Wright, Jr., and wife Mickie; Alan Lee Wright and wife, Barbara; Sister; Brenda Gail Devinney and husband Leon; Cousin; Michael Wright
Visitation will be Friday, March 28, 2014 from 6:30-8:30 pm at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Maylo United Methodist Church with Rev.
