John Roy "R.L." Adams

Gastonia- John Roy "R.L." Adams, 77 passed away peacefully February 6, 2015 surrounded by his loving family at his residence.

R.L. was born in Greenville, SC, on March 17, 1937 to the late Roy Lee and Isdore Barnett Adams.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Brenda Franklin Adams, and a brother Paul Adams.

R.L. was a member of Hillview Baptist Church. He was retired from Adams & Son Masonry, and a U.S. Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 8 years, Jane Woods Adams, his son Johnny Adams and wife Karmen, step son David Woods, daughters, Lorie Craig and husband Riley, Charlene Davis and husband Terry, Carmen Adams and Carey Teague, Misty Adams Payseur; 11 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren; Two Brothers and Five Sisters,

Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, February 8th from 6:00 until 8:00pm at Hillview Baptist Church, 403 Dallas Stanley Hwy, Dallas.

Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 pm, Monday, February 9th at Hillview Baptist Church with Reverend Randy Stiles officiating.

Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park with Military Honors provided by the Gaston County Honor Guard and the Releasing of the Doves
