Belmont – John Robert Love, 88 passed away on November 10, 2020 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Clover, South Carolina on April 14, 1932 to the late Howard Pressley Love and Annie Stinson Love. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Hugh Pressley Love.
John worked at Westinghouse -Turbin as a welder for many years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a military policeman. John was a member of South Point Baptist Church. He enjoyed working with the youth at church for many years. He also enjoyed being outside and farming.
Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife of 67 years, Betty Aldridge Love;
his children, John R. "Zip" Love, II and wife Delores, Patricia "Patty" Love and significant other Ronald Hearn and Melissa Deal and husband Danny; grandchildren, Chase Tucker (Haley), Daniel Deal, Jordon Tucker (Leslie) Marah Rauch (Sean), Logan Lang (Garrett) and Maddie Deal; great grandchildren, Neeli Tucker, Mason and Alaina Deal, Miles Tucker, Finnley Lang.
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, a private Graveside Service for family only.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to South Point Baptist Church, 124 Horsley Avenue, Belmont, NC 28012.
