Gastonia – John Wayne "Johnny" Jenkins, 69 of Gastonia passed away February 21, 2013 at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
He was a native of Gaston County, born March 10, 1943 to the late Clayton Wayne and Aletha Jones Jenkins.
Johnny was retired from Public Service (PSNC) with over 39 years of service; he was an avid golfer and was a U.S Navy veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Judith Lineberger Jenkins who died in 1995, and a brother n law, Greg Bridgeman.
Survivors include his wife Kendra Bruno Jenkins; a daughter Leslie Edison and husband Tim of Dallas; his twin grandchildren
Luke and Lauren Edison. Sister Janice Bridgeman of Cramerton; Stepson, Jeff Faircloth of St Louis; sister n law Patsy Lineberger Frazier and husband Ronald; Several nieces and nephews
Memorial Service will be 7:00pm Monday at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with Reverend Leroy Mobley officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00pm prior to the service
Inurnment will be private at Gaston Memorial Park
Honorary Pallbearers will be John McCall, Tommy Bland, Jimmy Jones, Bennie Wooten, Roger Cloninger and Ronald Frazier
