GASTONIA – John Alexander Hawkins, 77, passed away May 23, 2014 at his residence.
He was native of Gaston County, born, November 18, 1936 to the late Vernon and Ruth McCall Hawkins.
John was an avid golfer and love to garden. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
He is survived by Wife of 54 Years, Nadine Gaddis Hawkins, son Jeffrey Dale Hawkins and wife Darlene daughter Susan Hawkins Prescott and husband Patrick, brothers Biven Eugene Hawkins and Robert Leslie Hawkins, grand children Alex and Alan Prescott and step- grand daughter Cerissa Roberts
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Monday May 26, 2014 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Rev. Mike Criswell officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery "A Quiet" Place in Belmont, NC
