Gastonia – Robert Joe Woody, 70 went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 3, 2018. He was born in Gaston County on April 4, 1948 to the late Millard and Lila Chambers Woody. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy and Ralph Woody and a sister Maxine Dockery.
Joe is survived by his sister, Colleen Woody; niece and caregiver Betty Burrell; special friend, David Burrell; numerous other nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was a member of Soul's Harbor Tabernacle Church. Joe retired from trucking mechanic.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2018 at Soul's Harbor Tabernacle, 271 Camp Rotary Road, Gastonia.
A Celebration of Life Service to be at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 8th at Soul's Harbor Tabernacle with Pastor James Chambers officiating.
Interment will follow at Hollywood with the Releasing of the Doves.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Soul's Harbor Tabernacle, 271 Camp Rotary Road, Gastonia, NC 28052
