Gastonia – Frances Joann Spurling, 69, joined her heavenly Father peacefully on December 4, 2021, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center with her loving family by her side.
She was born in York, SC on January 9, 1952. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ocie L. Harmon and John and Irene Mauney; her brother, Ed McBee.
Joann was a loving and kind-hearted soul who loved unconditionally. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed! Joann worked in medical records administration and retired from Courtview OB/Gyn PA after many years of dedicated service.
Survivors include her loving husband of almost 50 years, Donald W. Spurling; her children, Donald E. Spurling, Jolene S. Frazier (Eric); and Jason Spurling;
her grandchildren, Kalani F. Beaty (Zach); Kolby Frazier (Kaitlyn); Joshua Frazier (Erika); Jordan Frazier (Megan) and Brayden Frazier; Kalei Spurling (Ty); Tyler, Madison, Abigail, Gauge, Sage, Jordan, and Charlie Spurling; great-grandchildren, Kynzlei and Kaison Robinson, Mila Beaty, Kaylee, Kimber, Rylee, and Lillian Frazier; brothers, James McBee (Henriett); Johnny McBee and Marion David McBee; sisters, Judy Tino and Bobbie Cochran (Cecil); and her beloved fur baby, "Sugar"; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Sunday, December 12th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 3:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Thompson and Pastor Scott Hay officiating.
Inurnment will be at a later date in Hollywood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Belmont Connections Church, c/o Building Fund, 304 McAdenville Road, Belmont, North Carolina 28012.
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, if you feel the need to stay home, a card or phone call to the family will be appreciated.
