JoAnn Huggins Lyon

JoAnn Huggins Lyon, 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Alexandria Place. JoAnn was born in Gaston County and was the daughter of the late James and Ruby Hodge Huggins.

JoAnn was a member of South Gastonia Church of God and a former member of Yorkwood Church of God where she was a member of the Choir.

She will be remembered by her skill as a decorator, arts and crafts. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother.

JoAnn leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband of 65 years, Robert Odell Lyon; two loving daughters and spouses, Rhonda Anthony (Steve), Linda Burchfield (Alan) of Lake Wylie, South Carolina; two loving sons and spouses, Craig Lyon (Linda), Keith Lyon (Kris) of Gastonia, North Carolina; one loving brother, James Alvin Huggins of Chapin, South Carolina; 12 loving grandchildren and spouses, Jeremy Huffstetler, Jonathan Huffstetler (Jennifer), Brandy Mercer (Andy), Mark Burchfield (Lindsey),
Kelly Huffman (Matt), Jason Lyon, James Lyon, Justin Lyon, Christy Lyon, Cacy Lyon, Preston Lyon, Patrick Lyon; 12 loving great grandchildren, Eli, Eden, Emerson, Ava, Drew, Lola Jean, Austin, Kailee, Elyn, Maddox, Bella-Reese, Brecks.

The family will be at the home of Linda and Alan Burchfield.

Private Graveside Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Hollywood Cemetery with Pastor Bobby Gilley officiating.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Vernie Huggins.
