Vale, NC – Joan Rue Hixson, 73 passed away peacefully on June 28, 2019 Carolinas Medical Center, Main with her family by her side.
She was born in Mercer County, New Jersey on October 5, 1945 to the late Arthur Rue and Gwendolyn Purdy Rue. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Hixson and a brother.
Joan worked as a clerk with the State Department of Motor Vehicles.
Survivors include her husband, Vincent Wesley Hixson; son, Nelson Hixson of Vale: daughters, Kimberly Rodweller (Michael) and Michelle Knox both of Hamilton, NJ granddaughters, Amanda Scaramazzino (Joseph), Krystal Hixson, Alyse Hixson and Dana Jackson; 4 brothers and 1 sister.
