He was born in Gastonia on January 25, 1961 to the late Max Alton Thomas and Frances Bowman Thomas.
Jim is survived by his daughter Jamie Michelle Richardson and husband Adam, grandchildren, Xavier and Audrey, brothers, Max Thomas, Jr., Joe Thomas and Scott Thomas and wife Jeanette, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins
