1936-2016
Dallas – James Carl "Jim" Lutz, 79, passed away suddenly on March 3, 2016
He was born in Gaston County on November 19, 1936 to the late Graham Laden and Sallie Stoddard Lutz.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Graham Lutz and Leon Trivett
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed greatly! Jim was a member of First United Methodist
Church in Dallas, NC. He was a Veteran of the US Army and later worked for Carolina Freight as a mechanic with 38 years of dedicated service. Jim loved his family; his grandkids meant the world to him. He enjoyed taking the grand kids fishing and spending time with them as much as possible. He always enjoyed being outdoors fishing, hunting and planting a garden.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Gerald Dean Ford Lutz; daughters, Lynne McDonald (James); Maria Johnson (Dywane); grandchildren, Christian McDonald, Katelyn McDonald, Dylan Johnson and Emilie Johnson;
sister, Helen Medlin and sister-in-law Betty Lutz
Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, March 6th from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 301 West Main Street, Dallas NC
Celebration of Life Service will be Monday, March 7th at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 301 West Main Street, Dallas, NC 28034 with Reverend Caroll Flack officiating.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park in the Masonic Section with Military Honors provided by the Gaston County Honor Guard.
