Jim Michael Decker

Belmont – Jim Michael Decker, 60, passed away on November 4, 2022.  

He was born in Goldsboro, North Carolina on July 8, 1962 to the late Carl and Mary Decker. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Bob Decker and Lee Decker; and his sister, Martha Decker.

Jim was a Panthers and Nascar fan. He enjoyed going to the beaches in Florida, having fun at Cherokee Casino, and known for his famous Decker Dip recipe. Jim was a big jokester who enjoyed making people laugh and he was very generous with his friends.

Those left to cherish Jim’s memory is his daughters, Lisa Schronce, April Burton, Alicia Oseguera (Abraham), and Elizabeth Matthews (Grant); brothers, Timmy Decker and Elton Decker; sisters, Beverley Thompson and Julie Galloway; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday November 10, 2022 2:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dale Lawing Officiating.

The family will also welcome friends this week at their home at 2083 South Point Road Belmont, North Carolina 28012.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with their funeral expenses.
