Gastonia – Jerry Dale Walton, 67 passed away peacefully on November 14, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at the Robin Johnson House.
He was born in Whiteville, NC, on July 23, 1947 to the late Robert Lee and Mabel Ruth Cribb Walton.
Jerry enjoyed fishing with his family, working in beautiful yard and watching the Gaithers program on Television. He also enjoyed singing gospel music and had sung with the Agent of Change Group. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne. Jerry was a wonderful father and friend to all.
Survivors include his soul mate and love of his life for over 17 years, Barbara McGinnis;
Renee Russell (Greg), Keely Rayfield (Jessee), Cameron Russell, Josh Alexander (Heather), Finn Alexander and Raelynn Rayfield; brother Jimmy Walton (Janice); sister Betty Moss (Jerry)
Funeral Service will be at 3:00 pm, Monday, November 17th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with Reverend James Billings officiating and Military honors by the Gaston County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 pm prior to the service
