Vale- Reverend Emmitt Jerry Mobley, 69 of 2931 Burgin Smith Road passed away peacefully February 9, 2011 at his residence. He was a native of Gaston County, born October 25, 1941 to the late Robert Glenn and Lora Green Mobley.
Jerry and his twin brother Terry was the first twins to be born in Dallas. He was a member of New Faith Baptist Church, Belmont and was a Pastor for over 35 years.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Sue Costner Mobley; his children, Tami Taylor and husband Reid of Raleigh;
Chuck Mobley and wife Kristie of Belmont; Lisa Thompson of Belmont; Tim Mobley of Dallas; Dana Short and husband Glen of Vale;
Eight grandchildren, Three brothers, Roger Mobley of Vale;
Terry Mobley of Dallas; Leroy Mobley of Mt. Holly;
The family will receive friends 6-8 Friday at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home
Celebration of Life service will be 12:00 Noon at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Criswell and Berkley officiating
Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Lincolnton
