Lowell –Jerry Dean Messick, 78, passed away on January 17th at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. He was born on March 13, 1943. He was the son of the late Richard Messick and Zella Burris Messick Fowler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Kenneth Messick, Bob Messick, Norman Messick, and three sisters, Joyce Davis, Irene Parnell, and Connie Perry.
Jerry was certainly "one of a kind" and was so gifted in so many ways. He played the guitar and was musically gifted and could rebuild any small machine or electronics with such ease. He was a loving father and Paw Paw who will be greatly missed.
Survived by his sons, Rodney Messick (Nicole); Chris Messick (Becky); grandchildren, Chase (Kyndra), Bo (Raygan), Bailey, Josh (Brooklyn), Justin and Keri (Chris);
great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Colton, Mason, Parker, Levi, and Braylon; his companion and soul mate of 27 years, Evelyn Clary and her family; numerous nieces and nephews.
A private Graveside Service will be held at Hollywood Cemetery, Gastonia.
