Gastonia – Jerry Dale McManus, 77 passed away on April 14th at his residence with his family by his side.

He was born in Gaston County on February 26, 1943 to the late Ruth C. and Thomas Lee McManus, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Kay Hall McManus; and son, Clinton Scott McManus.

Jerry proudly worked as a welder for Duke Power for over 29 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed telling war stories and sharing his fond military experiences. He also enjoyed golfing with friends, old music and sharing memories of the good ole days. But most of all he enjoyed his family especially spending time with his grandson, Chance.

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Tracy Ann McManus Costner and husband Grier Costner, III; grandson, Grier "Chance" Costner, IV; sister-in-law, Judy Hall Davis and her son Reggie Davis, Jr.

Private Graveside Service will be held Thursday, April 16th at Gaston Memorial Park, Garden of Four Seasons with Elder Sherman Thompson officiating.
with Military Taps presentation by Stephen Goshorn, Bugles Across America.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice, P.O. Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054
