Belmont - Jerrald "Jerry" Durantt Stone, Jr., 61, of Belmont, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. He was born in Gaston County and is the son of Jerrald Durantt Stone, Sr. and the late Betty Rhinehart Yarborough.
Jerry was a General Contractor. Jerry is survived by his daughter, Ashlee Leeper (Trent, Sr.); son, Jared Stone; father, Jerrald Durrantt Stone, Sr. and wife Belinda; three brothers, Keith Stone, Kelly Stone, Ricky Stone; two sisters, Mari Yarborough, Jill Bell; three grandchildren, Jaida Leeper, Kyndal Leeper, Trent Leeper, Jr. and mother of their children, Karen Baker.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother and sister, Laura Turner.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, October 12th at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home, 2916 Union Road, Gastonia with A Celebration of Life Service to follow at 5:00 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel of Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with the Releasing of the Doves to follow.
The burial will be private and at a later date.
