Gastonia - Dorothy Jeannette Medlin, 70 passed away peacefully July 17, 2017at her residence.
She was born in Gaston County on September 13, 1946 to the late Richard and Elizabeth Martin Sharpe. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Danny Medlin, Sr.
Jeannette had worked at the Gastonia Police Department for over 12 years and later retired from Farm Bureau. She was a member of East Garrison Baptist Church where she was very active in the choir, Joy club, Sunday school and WMU. She belonged to the Sundowners Bowling Legion. Jeannette was a loving wife, mother and "Nanny".
Left to cherish her memories includes her children Danny Medlin, Jr and Donnie Medlin Biggerstaff and fiancée Scott Jackson; grandchildren Stacie Biggerstaff and fiancée Josh Wall, Wil Biggerstaff, Dylan Medlin and Allie Medlin; great grandchildren, Madison Grace Wall, Kaulin Wall and Carsyn Wall; her mother in law "Mama" and best friend, Donnie Ruth Medlin Holland; sister Barbara Gillespie (Doug), brother in laws, Timothy Medlin (Vickey), Mike Medlin (Brenda), Cathie Falls (Eddie); half brothers and sister, Billy, Paul, Carl, Richard Sharpe and Laurie Manuel
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 19th at East Garrison Baptist Church, 1226 East Garrison Boulevard, Gastonia
Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 20th at East Garrison Baptist Church, 1226 East Garrison Blvd., Gastonia with Reverend Charles Ledford and Reverend Sam Mintz officiating.
Interment will follow at Evergreen "A Quiet Place" Belmont
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Danny Medlin, c/o 1916 Woodgreen Drive, Gastonia, NC 28052
