Gastonia - Andrew Jay Simonds, 21, entered into Heaven on Monday, September 24, 2018 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Jay was born in Mecklenburg County and is the son of Andrew and Kris Nicholson Simonds.

Jay is a member of Union Road Church. He loved people, loved to skateboard, camp, play the guitar, loved to sing and loved the Theatre. Jay was a son anyone and everyone would be proud to call "Son". He loved everyone and will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends.

Jay leaves to cherish his memories his parents, Andrew and Kris Nicholson Simonds; brother, Aaron Simonds; sister, Karley Simonds; maternal grandparents, Hughlon and Shelby Graham Nicholson; paternal grandparents, John and Faye Simonds; many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2018 at Union Road Church, 2315 Union Road, Gastonia with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Friday at Union Road Church with Pastor Lee Claypoole and Pastor Eric Dawes officiating.

Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park with the Releasing of the Doves.
