Lowell – Janice Pittman Johnson, 77, entered into Heaven on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the Robin Johnson House.

She was born in Mitchell County on February 12, 1940 to the late Edward A and Elizabeth Warren Pittman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Pittman and Warren Pittman, and a sister Linda Pittman Lucas.

Janice loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to cook and take care of her family. She loved to watch the Gaither Gospel events on television. She will truly be missed by her loving family.

Left to cherish her memories includes her loving husband of 57 years, Kenneth Johnson, Sr.; daughter, Debra Vernon (Curtis) of Gastonia; son, Kenneth Johnson, Jr. of Lowell; Grandchildren, Jordan Sexton (Eric), Nick Vernon; brothers, Ben Pittman, Boyd Pittman (Mable), Mack Pittman (Mozelle), Reginald Pittman (Rita); sister, Juanita Floyd and several loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 28th prior to the Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 p.m., Thursday at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dickie Spargo officiating with the Releasing of the Doves to follow.
