Gastonia-Janet Keziah Miller, 79 of Gastonia went home to be with the Lord June 10, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her family and friends.
She was a native of Union County, NC born October 25, 1932 to the late Brady Johnson Keziah, Sr. and Mattie Love Bell Keziah.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Brady Johnson Keziah, Jr.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Ralph E. Miller; her son, Ralph Brady 'Brad' Miller and wife Roxie of Stanley. Two very special grandchildren, Brady and Emily. Niece and great-niece, Susan and Amber Woods of Gastonia.
Jane was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, where she was very active and served as secretary and treasurer for her Sunday school class, on the kitchen committee, and with the WMU. Jane was a 1951 graduate of Gastonia High School; following graduation she received her nursing degree in 1954. She was a Registered Nurse in North Carolina and Pennsylvania, serving in both Bloomsburg, PA and Gastonia. She also worked at Gaston College book store for over 21 years. Jane and Ralph met at the Pavilion at Myrtle Beach, fell in love and lived a wonderful full life together.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00pm on Tuesday at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life service will be 11:00am on Wednesday at New Hope Baptist Church with Dr. Ned A. Buckner, Reverend M.O. Owens and Reverend Walt Griggs officiating.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Pallbearers will be Bill Hayes, George Smith, Dale Hendricks, Pete Greely, Tommy Davis, Mick Metcalf, Bill Metcalf and Bill Eaton
