James Boyd Killian, Sr.

James Boyd Killian, Sr., 88, passed away peacefully at his home on July 26, 2022 with his loving family by his side.  Boyd was born in Clover, South Carolina on February 15, 1934 and is the son of the late Charles Bass Killian and Fuchsia McGinnis Killian. 

Boyd was a graduate of Gastonia High School and Gaston College with a Degree in Civil Engineering.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Boyd is a member of Evangel Assembly of God.  He was known as a Jack of All worker.  There was nothing he could not do or try.  He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and a true friend to so many.  He will truly be missed.

Boyd is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Patricia Matkins Killian; loving daughter, Lisa Killian and adopted daughter, Nikki Lauber; loving son and his wife, James Boyd Killian, Jr. and Gay; 2 loving  grandchildren, Joshua Killian, David Killian and wife Angel.

The family will receive family and friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Evangel Assembly of God, 625 Neal Hawkins Road, Gastonia with a Celebration of Life Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Rufus Johnson officiating.  Military Honors will be presented prior to the Celebration of Life Memorial Service by the United States Air Force.

Inurnment will be private and at a later date.
