James "Jim" Everette Ford, Jr

Gastonia-  James “Jim” Everett Ford, Jr., 64, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Gastonia, NC on April 17, 1958 to the late Betty Ford Senetta and James Everett Ford, Sr.

Jim graduated from Ashbrook High School and earned an Associates Degree in Computer Science from Gaston College. He attended Winthrop College. Jim worked in various occupations. He worked in the pawn shop business for several years. He worked in shipping and receiving at several different companies. He also drove a truck for Quality Exchange. His last and most memorable occupation was as a loving caretaker for both his mother and his father over the last decade. He always put others ahead of himself. One of his greatest joys was to be able to do for others. Jim was a loving and loyal son, brother, uncle and friend.

He loved having a booth at the flea market. He truly enjoyed getting to meet and make friends there! He also loved his garage sales! He could always “spin” a good tale! He enjoyed making people laugh! And he loved his trips to the beach!

Left to cherish his memory includes his sister Carla Ford Winters (John), nieces, Aubrey Overman, Alisha Cann (Lane), Anna Winters and great nieces, Lauren Overman and Ella Cann, his only surviving uncle, Andrew Ford of Rochester, NY, numerous cousins and very special friends, Tim and Carolyn Robinette, Johnny Loveday and Mike Craig.

The family will receive friends at the home of Jim’s sister, Carla Winters, on Sunday, June 5 from 2-4. Interment will be private.
