Newberry, SC- James Kenneth Hoffman, 80, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2021 at his residence.
He was born in Gaston County on July 2, 1941 to the late Earl and Pearl (Coley) Hoffman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Bill, Nelson and Clyde.
Ken was an avid outdoors man who loved hunting and sports. He enjoyed watching football and was a late convert to the South Carolina Gamecock fan base.
A loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed, he is survived by his wife, Carlene Helms Hoffman; a brother, Tommy Hoffman; sisters, Francis Hoffman and Rachel Robinson; a son, Robert Hoffman (Deborah); and two daughters, Jan Boon(Sidney) and Jamie Brooks (Drew); four grandchildren, Sydney, Amanda, Matthew and Beth and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 27th at Sandy Plains Baptist Church Cemetery, 5323 Union Road, Gastonia, NC 28056 with Pastor Robert Thompson officiating.
The family will speak to friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sandy Plains Baptist Church Church Cemetery Fund.
