Gastonia – James Charles Greene, 78 passed away peacefully on February 18, 2018 at his residence with his family by his side.
He was born in Danville, Virginia on July 31, 1939 to the late Elijah Theodore and Edith James Greene. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sisters, Geraldine, Gaye and Katherine, brother Ted.
Jimmy was a member of the Fraley Memorial Baptist Church. He retired as a lab tech in textiles. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Jimmy was an avid fisherman.
Left to cherish his memories includes wife of 52 years, Alice Manley Greene; children, Kimberly Feely, Lisa Greene and Robert Manley;
grandchildren, Alison Feely and Eric Manley; great granddaughter, Destiny Manley;
great great grandson, Kayden Manley; Brothers, Donnie and Karl Greene, Sister, Willie Mae Davis.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 22nd at Fraley Memorial Baptist Church. A Celebration of life service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 22nd at Fraley Memorial Baptist Church, 3025 Fraley Church Road, Gastonia with Dr. Warner Doles officiating.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Garden of Prayer with Military honors by the Gaston County Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Robert Manley, Rusty Ramsey, Robbie Long, Noah Ramsey, Phillip Sawyer and Karl Greene.
