Gastonia – James "Eric" Carter, aka "Big E" "Daddy Eric", 51, went to be with his Lord and Savior January 10, 2019 at his residence with his loving family by his bedside.
He was born August 5, 1967 in Gaston County to Jane Ervin Carter and the late James Robert Carter.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lisa Carter.
Big E retired from Stroupe Electric, Incorporated. He was a 1985 graduate of Hunter Huss High School and previous owner of "The Peanut Gallery". He loved fast cars, could fix anything broke and enjoyed bird watching. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, Paw Paw and brother that will be greatly missed!
Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife of 29 years, Kim Fowler Carter; his children, Payton Carter (Jeremy); Bleu Carter (Darian); Abbey Carter and Hunter Carter; his mother, Jane Ervin Carter; sister, Leslie Pasour (Mike); sister-in-law, Robin Chaney (Jeff) and brother in law, Timothy Fowler (Alicia);
nieces and nephews, Christopher Pasour, Jessica Summey (Chad), Lindsay Bolding, Hailey Childers (Josh), Aydan Childers, Sadie Summey and
Saylor Cagle; aunt, Linda Cronan.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Saturday, January 12th at Fraley Memorial Baptist Church with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 3:00 p.m., with Reverend Dr. Warner Doles and Reverend Charles Keller officiating. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to Gaston Hospice, PO Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054.
