Clover – James W. Edwards, Sr., 48, passed away on April 4, 2016.
He was born October 14, 1967 in Gaston County. He is preceded in death by his aunt, Jean James and uncles, Rev. Jimmy R. Painter and James "Buster" Painter.
James loved his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy! James enjoyed working on his "cars" and being outside. He was a loving son, father and brother and a friend to many that will be greatly missed!
He is survived by his son, James William Edwards, Jr., (Joellen Barber) ; his mother, Judy Painter Green and husband Joe; grandchildren, Brandon, Makala, Austin, Jesslynn and Jodi Edwards; brother, Jimmy Edwards and wife Elizabeth; nieces and nephews, Jimmy Edwards, Jr., Nicholas Edwards and Ashley Day;
grandparents, Carl and Bertie Painter; uncle, Johnny Painter (Joyce) and aunts, Janice McGill (Rick) and June Cash (Jim); and his special friend, Crystal Keller.
A Celebration of life service will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 9th at Freewill Church of Jesus Christ, 145 Hamrick Road, Gastonia, NC 28056.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
