Gastonia – Jake Edward "Eddie" Kendrick, 83, passed away on October 29, 2018 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Gaston County, born October 21, 1935 to the late William Marcus Kendrick and Edna Rae Hendrix Kendrick. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Billie Ann Gaddy.
Eddie was a veteran of the USMC. He retired from Consolidated Engravers textile engraving with 35 years of dedicated service. He loved spending time at his beach home and fishing at Oak Island, NC. Eddie enjoyed riding his lawn mower cutting his grass. He was a people watcher; he enjoyed being around his family and friends. He often traveled to Las Vegas and many foreign countries.
Left to cherish his memories includes his wife of 40 years, Felicia Atteberry Kendrick; his children, Wendy Kendrick (Bill) Blalock, Tim (Lisa) Kendrick; one grandson, Alex Kendrick; brother, Roger (Jane) Kendrick; sister-in-law, Brenda Ridge and (Victor Pomposello); several nieces and nephews
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service to follow in the Chapel at 6:00 p.m., Thursday with military honors by the Gaston County Honor Guard.
