Dallas – Payne, Helen Inez, 87, of Dallas, NC peacefully answered God's call to eternal rest on Saturday, March 17, 2014 at CaroMont Health Gastonia, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Dallas, NC on November 25, 1926 to the late Calvin Bert and Velcie Elizabeth Whisenant Payne. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Richard Payne and Bobby Eugene Payne and Ray Thomas Payne, sister, Edna Russell
She had a long career in the textile industry. Inez cherished her family and considered each family member a valuable treasure.
Survivors include her daughter, Faye P. Simonds and husband John; brothers; Alfred Payne Rev.
Donald Payne; Sisters, Joyce Hoffman, Shirley McSwain, and Ann Biggerstaff
Grandchildren; Cindy S. Beck, Raina S. Dawes, Andy Simonds, Daniel Simonds. She was also blessed with 11 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Payne, Rev. Fred Morrison, Rev. Eric Dawes and Rev. Paul Collins officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 - 4:00 pm prior to the service at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park with the Releasing of the Doves.
