Dallas-Hilda Parks Trantham, 79 of Dallas passed away September 29, 2013 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Haywood County, NC born August 22, 1934 to the late G.L. Parks and Nora Medford Shirley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Mack, and her sisters Ardis Taylor and Margaret Troll.
She was a loving wife mother and grandmother. Mrs. Trantham had retired from Mary Jo's Cloth with over 18 years of service.
She enjoyed going to the beach, and working in her flower gardens.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, John William Trantham;
her children, William Phillip Trantham and wife Patricia Buchanan Trantham of Gastonia; Lisa Trantham Nixon and husband Michael Alexander Nixon of Dallas;
Grandchildren Matthew Phillip Trantham, Kathryn Suzanne Trantham and Cameron Nicholas Nixon;
her sisters Mildred Killian of Stanley and Edna Clinton of Dallas
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00pm Tuesday at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home, 2916 Union Road, Gastonia and other times at her daughter Lisa Nixon, 923 Carole Summey Dr., Dallas
Funeral service will be 2:00pm Wednesday at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home
Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, with the Releasing of the Doves
