Helen Boone Heilig

McAdenville - Helen Boone Heilig, 86, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2023 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center with her loving family by her side.

She was born on March 18, 1937 in Gaston County to the late Johnny and Edna Boone. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lewis Heilig; and her daughter-in-law, Catherine Leslie Smith.

Helen loved going to church where she was a dedicated member of Dallas Church of God. She also enjoyed going shopping. Helen leaves many happy memories to be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Smith; grandchildren, Caroline Leslie Johnston (Adam) and William Todd Smith; and one great-grandchild, Will Johnston.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday September 25, 2023 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park in the Garden of Time.
