Heather Smith

Gastonia – Heather Leann Smith, 38, passed away October 4, 2024 at her residence. 

She was born in Gaston County, May 19, 1986 to Deborah Medlock and the late Dennis Smith. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Linda Chesney Medlock and Gene Medlock, and her uncles, Calvin Medlock, Eugene “Bo” Medlock and Timothy Matthew Medlock. 

She loved the outdoors, swimming, eating out and traveling. Heather also enjoyed trips to Charleston and enjoyed music, the beach, camping, and spending time and making memories with her family. She was a cosmologist 

 Left to cherish her memories is her mother, Deborah Medlock, and her aunt and second mother, that helped raising her, Melinda Medlock Bolin (John), her sister, Brittany Pace (,Cole Pace) cousins, Brandon Bolin, Matthew and Jonathan Medlock; nieces, Mackenzie Severance and Madison Watterson; and many wonderful friends Don Frank Stamey and Michael Hensley

A Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 15th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Pelonero officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 14th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home, and other times at the home of her aunt, Melinda at 1714 Shady Creek Drive Clover SC 29710. 

Burial will follow at Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 251 Olney Church Road, Gastonia, North Carolina. Pallbearers will be Brandon Bolin, John Bolin, Matthew Medlock, Cole Pace, Jack Parker and Don Stamey.
