Gastonia- Harvey Martin 91, of 931 N Aspen Street, Lincolnton formerly of Gastonia passed away October 15, 2011 at Cardinal Healthcare & Rehab, Lincolnton.
He was a native of Robertstown, GA, born September 7, 1920 to the late James and Lillie Williams Martin
Harvey owner and operator of Independent Cab Service for many years before retiring.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ona Lee McClure Martin Nine brothers and sisters, Howard, Eugene, Claude, Andrew, Ruby Martin, Susie M Hamilton and Hattie M Scroggs
He was survived by his daughters, Carolyn M Dow and husband Freddie 'Flip' of Gastonia; Brenda M Wilson and husband Olen of Gastonia; Janice M Alexander and husband Mark of Bessemer City; Donna M Smith and husband Steve of Dallas; Ten Grandchildren Ashlye and Buster Beaver, Freddie and Ashley Dow, Larry Bradley, Jimmy Bradley, Crystal Bradley, Danelle and J.R. Dixon, Daniel and Rachel Alexander, Wendy and Jay Cheek, Shonda and Bobby Duvall, Stephanie Smith
and Twenty Seven great grandchildren
and a special niece Omie Robbins and her husband Rev. Sam Robbins
The family will receive friends 1 hr prior to the service and other times at Carol and Flip Dows, 2010 Pine Needle Ct., Gastonia
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, October18 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Robbins officiating
Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park with Military Honors by the NC National Honor Guard
Pallbearers will be Jimmy and Larry Bradley, Scott Mathis, Corey Miles, Tony Wilson, Daniel Alexander and Freddie Dow
