Maiden – Harold W. Ramseur, 89, passed away on February 21, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Catawba County to the late Hubert and Jessie Gibbs Ramseur. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Hubert Ramseur Jr. and R.D. Ramseur; grandson, Damien James.

Harold loved his family and cherished all the memories that have been made throughout the years. He retired from the US Army, serving 23 years of dedicated service and obtained the rank of SSG. After retiring from the U.S. Army, he later worked at Null Manufacturing and was a former Funeral Assistant at Goodin-Drum in Maiden and E.F. Drum Funeral Home in Lincolnton.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Margaret Shepherd Ramseur; his children, Minister George James (Sherry), Ronald Ramseur (Barbara), Pastor Billy Ramseur (Janice); Harold J. Ramseur, Christopher Ramseur, Patricia Ramseur, Marlene Dingle and Jane Ramseur; honorary son and daughter, Garland and Glenda Rhinehardt; 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; 2 nephews, 4 nieces and a special bond with Calvin (Annie), Sissy and Calverta.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 25th at 2:00 p.m., at Maiden Chapel Baptist Church, 115 Gibbs Road, Maiden, NC with Pastor Vincent Ross and Reverend Billy Ramseur officiating.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. The body will lie in state from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow service at Maiden Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by the Fort Bragg Honor Guard.
