Gastonia- Harold D. Barrett, 75, passed away February 20, 2010 at his residence.
He was the son of the late Pressley Barrett and Ethel Long Barrett.
He retired from Merita Bakeries as assistant chief engineer after 25 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Ruby Barrett, sister, Mary Ferguson, brothers J.C. and Jimmy Barrett, special nephew Johnny Barrett and niece Kathy Scott.
He leaves to cherish his memory three children, Shan Barrett of Cramerton, Benny Barrett of Lake Wylie, SC, Robin Walker of Belmont, Grandchildren, Shiann Barrett, Justin Barrett, Colby Barrett, Malayna Barrett, Hannah Barrett, Mandy Parker, great-grandchild, Triston Parker, stepson, Hunter Woodburn, brother, Ret. Sgt. Major Pressley Barrett of Ocean Isle, NC, and special niece Patricia Crumbley of Gastonia, a host of other relatives and friends.
The Barrett family will receive friends 6-8 pm Wednesday at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday February 25 at Gaston Memorial Park, Garden of Prayer, New Section.
