Maiden – Gwen Auton McRee, 87 passed away May 31, 2017 at her residence.
She was born in Gaston County on November 12, 1929 to the late Claude Dewey and Mary Henrietta Eplee Auton.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Bill McRee.
Gwen was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her time with family and friends and will be greatly missed. She was a member of First Methodist Maiden, NC and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was the former co-owner of Glen Oaks Golf Course in Maiden, NC.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen Cloninger (Alan) of Maiden, NC; son, Brad McRee (Terry) of Hilton Head, SC;
Grandchildren, Adam Cloninger, (Telisia) of Newton; Beth Cloninger of Maiden; Cayse McRee of Orlando, FL; 2 step grandchildren, Kyle and Amber
Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, June 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 303 North Main Avenue, Maiden, NC with Reverend Tony Jordan officiating. Visitation will follow the Celebration of Life Service.
Interment will be private.
