Lakeland, FL- Laura Grace Raby, 85, 1554 Black Forest Dr. passed away January 16, 2010 at Palm Terrace Hospice House.
She was a native of Gaston County, born March 22, 1924 to the late Otis Burgin Canipe and Ethel Elizabeth Cavney Canipe.
Mrs. Raby was a retired nurse with the N.C. Orthopedic Hospital, Gastonia for many years. Grace was a charter member of the Second Baptist Church, Cresant Lane, Gastonia
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 41 yrs., Vernon Ray Raby and a brother, R.G. Canipe
Survivors include her children: Marcia R Hunter, Vickie R. Reagan and husband Robert, Keith Lamar Raby and wife Pat; Brothers: John Canipe and Roger Canipe
Grandchildren: Kelly Reagan, Robert Reagan, Mark Meadows, Pamela Calaway, Meleah Sipes, Revonda Harper, Hope Romero, Keith Raby, Jr., Kristina Smith and Tracey Decker

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Friday, January 22, 2010 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Griffie and Rev. Mike Criswell officiating
Family will receive friends 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, War Memorial I section with the releasing of the Doves
Pallbearers: Cole Meadows, Gavin Sipes, Jamie Raby, Matthew Morris, Freddy Sipes and Eric Meadows
